Our proposed application, “UpFashion!” looks to combat the unsustainability that accompanies the rising trend of ‘fast fashion’. Fast Fashion may be identified as the production of replicate clothing of high-demand fashion at a low cost- bringing them into retail stores as soon as possible to account for its high demand due to the items/lines' trendiness. Due to the need to get clothes out as soon as possible to draw in customers, it is found often that ‘fast-fashion’ products are generally poorly produced- designs may be inconsistent, items may not necessarily be tested before release and cheap synthetic fabrics may be used in order to keep production costs low, therefore, resulting in a low life span of the clothing. It is a trend that many fast fashion clothing items end up in landfills despite only being worn a handful of times.
